Eight preparation steps

01

Films and permissions

Choose the films and contact each rights holder to agree screening permission, versions and subtitles. Obtain the films separately and test playback.

Film and filmmaker introductions

Check titles, credits and bilingual descriptions before preparing the event page.

03

Stills and film posters

Collect images, confirm credits and permissions, and prepare them for publicity and printed materials.

04

The event poster

Prepare the theme, date, location and film list for online and print versions.

05

Publicity materials for partners

Share checked film information, posters and images, and coordinate publication arrangements.

06

Film booklet and audience participation

Prepare film introductions, response sheets and bilingual discussion prompts. The toolkit includes examples from the original screening.

07

Documenting the event

Explain how photography or video will be used and ask participants about their wishes. Plan how to document the venue and conversations.

08

Review and filmmaker feedback

Gather audience responses, send feedback to filmmakers and preserve records for future reflection.
